Thanks for sharing your fave running shoes! I actually ended up buying a pair of Nikes (the Asics seemed a little too wide for my feet). So far so good. Good luck with all the upcoming 5Ks and half marathons!

I ran in many many pairs of Nike and Saucony during HS cross country. However, I've been a loyal Asics gal for the past 10 years or so. Every time I get new sneaks, I try, I really do, to check out other brands. But I always end up with Asics. They fit my foot well and have a good balance of cushiness and support.
BTW, C-ville has the best running store - Ragged Mountain Running.
I'll be running my first 5k in years on Saturday. Can't wait for the crowds!

Thanks for the shoe recommendation, my Nikes are getting on my nerves and I've been thinking about getting new ones, but don't tell my husband. I too am enjoying running although my knees and shins tell me otherwise ... This 5K http://www.actrunfortherainforest.org/ may be my first as an adult and my last, but at least I will say I did it. If you want to do one together though, let me know! I imagine would be more fun with a friend.

So excited for you completing your first race...and a 9:20 pace? You go girl. Seeing Mr. S&C cheering you on is something that will never get old. I love looking out for KT when I'm racing. During my first 1/2 marathon, I even called him at mile 7 to see where he was! Sshh..don't tell "real" runners I had my cell phone during a race.

Anyway, about shoes. I was a Nike girl forever but apparently that whole pregnancy thing made my arches fall? I had no idea that could happen ...but our running store fit me for Saucony shoes. I pink puffy heart them. I wish they WERE pink. If they were pink, they'd be perfect.
